  • Electrical Focus | 1x Electrical Specialist role (Trade or Degree qualified)

About the Opportunity

Shape Electrical Asset Reliability on a Major 7.5Mtpa Expansion

Are you a proactive Electrical Maintenance Specialist or Reliability Engineer looking to leave your mark on a tier-one ramp-up project?

We are currently seeking one Electrical Maintenance Readiness Specialist / Engineer to join our client's high-performing team on a balanced 8:6 FIFO roster.

This is a critical 6-month contract with strong potential for extension as the project transitions through commissioning and materials handling system (MHS) ramp-up into sustained, long-term operations.

What's On Offer

  • Work-Life Balance: Highly desirable 8:6 FIFO roster.
  • Project Exposure: Strategic involvement in a high-profile 7.5Mtpa expansion with genuine long-term prospects.
  • Supportive Culture: Join an industry leader committed to site safety, structured mentoring, and clear career development pathways.

What We're Looking For

    • Qualifications: Trade qualified (Cert III / IV Electrotechnology / Electrical, with WA Electrical Licence or recognised equivalent) or tertiary qualified in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Reliability, or similar).
    • Industry Experience: Proven background across mining, bulk materials handling, mineral processing, or heavy industrial fixed plant.
    • Fixed Plant Knowledge: Prior hands-on familiarity with fixed plant electrical infrastructure (e.g., MV/LV switchrooms, transformers, VFDs/variable speed drives, conveyor drives, primary/secondary crushing stations, screening, or hoisting systems) is highly regarded.
    • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated ability to set up structured electrical maintenance strategies, improve equipment reliability, and clean master data in CMMS (SAP / Pronto or similar).

Key Responsibilities

You will bridge the gap between capital delivery and operational excellence. Core duties include:

  • Electrical Strategy & Defect Elimination: Investigate repeat electrical breakdowns, trip issues, and chronic reliability problems to deliver root-cause solutions from concept to close-out.
  • Standards & Readiness: Audit day-to-day electrical maintenance practices against statutory standards and company guidelines, identify operational gaps, and optimise electrical maintenance strategies to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Master Data & Critical Spares: Lead initiatives to refine electrical asset master data, ensure long-lead electrical spare parts inventory readiness (motors, drives, switchgear, instrumentation), and establish standard work instructions (SWIs).
  • Equipment Health & Condition Monitoring: Implement structured electrical asset health monitoring routines (thermography, insulation testing, vibration monitoring on motor drives), defect-elimination workflows, and reliability performance tracking.
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on electrical engineering advice during commissioning, energisation, ramp-up, and early operational phases.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Align closely with operations, capital projects, engineering, and electrical OEMs to integrate maintenance requirements into daily routines.
